About idam
idam is a travel map and journal built around the places you keep going back to. Most travel apps organise memories by trip or by country count. idam organises them by place over time. Every visit adds a new layer to a place: photos, a note, a story. Its pin on your map gets one more ring.
Import your photos and idam reads where and when each one was taken, on your phone. It groups them into places, so a return trip becomes a new visit, not a duplicate pin. You can compare the same place years apart, get "on this day" memories, and follow friends' travels.
Idam means "place" in Malayalam and Tamil.
A map of the places that hold you
The hill station you've visited since childhood. Your grandparents' town. The beach you go back to every December. idam keeps these places together on one map, and shows how each one changed every time you returned.
Build your map from photos you already have
Pick photos from your library. idam reads their location and date on your device, groups them into places and adds them to your map. Only the photos you choose are uploaded, and their location data is removed first.
Travel with friends
Follow friends and see where they're going back to ("Anu went back to Munnar · 3rd visit"). You can explore places on a globe, search people, trips and destinations, and see the places people return to most.
Collect your countries
Every country you visit adds a flag to your profile, with progress towards all 195.
Plan your next visit (Pro)
An optional Pro plan drafts itineraries using AI, built from your past visits, your friends' places and the web, with a source for each stop. Pro is planned and not yet available.

Yes, idam is free to use. An optional Pro plan for AI trip planning is planned.
